Description of your outing in the lower part of the Ecouges canyon
The Ecouges canyon is one of the most beautiful canyons in the Vercors Massif, located along the road between Villard de Lans and Saint Gervais in Isère, France. The canyon is divided into two sections.
It’s not easy to decide which canyoning trip is right for you, so don’t hesitate to give us a call. We’ll take the time to advise you and tell you which canyoning trip is right for you.
On the Ecouges canyon, the upper part is technical and has no jumps or slides, while the lower part is fun and has many jumps and slides. Once you have informed us of your choice and selected a date, we will send you a confirmation e-mail containing all the information you need to do the Ecouges canyon. We will also ask you to give us your height and weight so that we can take the right equipment. That’s all there is to it, and on D-Day we meet at the canyon start parking lot (GPS coordinates can be found in the booking email).
Your instructor will be waiting for you with the equipment, and once everyone is equipped, a short 5-minute walk will take us to the bridge at the start of the lower part of the Ecouges canyon, located between the two sections.
The instructor will give you a safety briefing, demonstrating the correct technique for abseiling, and will ask you for your experience so that he can adapt the obstacles to your level.
You will discover the lush, open Ecouges canyon with its many obstacles, and sometimes it will be possible to repeat a jump or slide. The abseils are splendid, and your instructor will take a few photos of your exploits, which he’ll pass on to you free of charge after the canyon.
Along the way, your instructor will help you discover all the possibilities this canyon has to offer.
The end of the Ecouges canyon is marked by an atypical abseil where the water forms a tendril. After this obstacle, a 20-minute ascent takes us back to our cars, where we say goodbye and see you soon for new adventures!
